Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition
The 53rd Venice Biennale International Art Exhibition opened on June 7 and runs through November 22, 2009. The Biennale is titled Fare Mondi or Making Worlds. Daniel Birnbaum, director of the Exhibition, explains the name. "The title of the exhibition expresses my wish to emphasize the process of creation. A work of art represents a vision of the world and if taken seriously it can be seen as a way of making a world." More than 90 artists and a record 77 countries are represented at venues across the city of Venice.
