Melissa Cicci is the founder and editor of Beyond Doorways Travel. "I regard travel as an opportunity to open our minds, challenge complacency, and to gather and share stories. It's remarkable to me that I've been collecting stories for more than 30 years, but only recently have begun to tell them."
Melissa earned a B.A. in Spanish and an M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University, and later spent many years working in the field of international textile/apparel trade policy. After a lifetime on the East Coast, Melissa now lives with her family in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

She has hiked the woods of New York's Adirondacks, the 14,000-foot peaks of Colorado, New Mexico's Sangre de Cristo mountains, Germany's Black Forest, and Spain's Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage trail. A regular contributor to the magazine, in this issue Jeanne recounts a day shopping in Metepec, Mexico "Shopping in Metepec, Mexico." A former early childhood teacher, active community leader, mother of five and grandmother to eight, Jeanne lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Cynthia Pearson
Cynthia Pearson traveled for many years on business for a major airline and, after her retirement, for years as an enthusiastic tourist. She has logged in 32 countries on seven continents. She says she lacks the Indian subcontinent as a major destination and plans to go there soon. Also on her agenda are Greenland and the western countries of the Silk Route. "So many places, so little time." When at home, she is a volunteer lawyer for many causes and a dedicated helper for refugees. In this issue, Cynthia recounts her recent visit to Northern Ireland, "A Corner of Hibernia, Northern Ireland".
